Stylists to Get Curly Girl Certified
Education is a priority at Ippatsu. Every stylist at the salon will be taking a curly cutting and styling class in May. They will learn different techniques on how to cut, style, and maintain curly hair. (March 2008)
Ippatsu Stylists Head to NYC for
International Beauty Show
The salon is going to IBS New York for more education from a variety of today's top stylists. From April 27-29, we will be attending various classes in haircutting, styling, and color with leading experts in the field (such as Nick Arrojo from TLC's What Not to Wear and L'Oreal Professional color artist Jo Blackwell). We'll be coming back with new and creative ways to cut and color your hair! (March 2008)

Morning Makeovers with Ippatsu
on WCIA's The Morning Show
Tune in Mondays around 6:30 a.m to WCIA Channel 4's The Morning Show and see the winning makeovers given by Ippatsu stylists. To nominate yourself or a friend, email themorningshow@wcia.com. Include a photo along with an explanation of why you want to get a makeover. You must be 18 or older to enter, and available on the last Monday of the month at 8 a.m. Watch the first Monday Makeover. The series runs December 2007 through March 2008. (December 2007)
Red Product Fundraiser
Purchase any red product at Ippatsu Salon during the month of December and $1 will go towards Greater Community AIDS Project (GCAP). (December 2007)
Vidal Sassoon—Indianapolis
Ippatsu Salon's stylists will hit the road again to continue educating themselves and passing on to you what they will learn in hands-on hair cutting and styling classes through Vidal Sassoon. Classes through Wella will also be attended to learn the newest, successful color techniques available.
It is the intent, goal, practice and belief of Ippatsu stylists that in order to stay at the forefront of our profession, we must always continue our education. This effort is always the best measure of a stylist's continual interest in successful professional growth, gaining additional skills and abilities, and at the same time, a sure sign we will always stay in tune with only the newest and best, techniques and styles.

Paul Mitchell: A Signature Gathering
Ippatsu Salon's stylists traveled to Las Vegas to attend the Paul Mitchell A Signature Gathering event. This is an exclusive event for members of the Signature Salon Program, that allows those who attend to improve their knowledge base, stay on top of new products, new styles and continue to become better stylists. The Great Clash Fashion Show
Ippatsu Salon and Soma Ultralounge teamed up to host The Great Clash Fashion Show on September 3, 2006, an event sponsored to benefit Mark Daley and his family. Mark Daley, is a native of Champaign, diagnosed with glioblastoma, or an advanced brain tumor, and is receiving costly treatments that extend his life. (September 2006)

The 2006 International Beauty Show
At the end of April through the beginning of May, Ippatsu Salon attended the 2006 International Beauty Show in New York City. It annually attracts around 50,000 beauty professionals eager to see the latest in beauty products and services. By attending the IBS 2006, the Ippatsu Staff had the ability to enrich themselves and contine to expand their professional knowledge base, as well as attend an exciting show floor, showcasing the newest beauty and spa products and techniques available. They got to meet professionals from everywhere, attend lectures and learn first hand from reputable experts like Jo Blackwell-Preston, the driving force of the infamous DopDop Salon in SoHo.

In the March 2nd Edition of The Hub Weekly, the people who cast their votes in the "Best of Champaign-Urbana" awards, determined that Ippatsu Salon had the Best Stylists in town(s). The Hub had this to offer:
